The fruit flies are very small insect which has the ability to fly and it breeds in the most areas as larvae. They can survive only in the moist areas where there is plenty of organic matter. You can kill the flies using several sprays and other organic materials.

The first thing to know how to get rid of fruit flies is you should correctly identify the larvae sources in the moist areas. Then you should also search the place where the fruits and vegetables are stored. The various other breeding places include sink, garbage pots, recycle bins and other water drain systems. Fruit flies gives large number of eggs and it lays eggs up to 500 at a time. But, their lifecycle completes within a week. They are considered as pest which will contaminate the food with some dangerous bacteria. So, it is important to locate the breeding source and you should destroy them completely to get rid of fruit flies.

To keep the jar clean, put the banana and cover it with aluminum foil or plastic cover. So, there won’t be space in the sides and corners. Now, you need to make 4 to 5 holes in the aluminum foil and place the jar where you can see many fruit flies. Then, the flies observe the smell of banana and enter into the jar after which they can’t come out of the jar. You can see the jar with full of flies but wait for 24 hours.

This is the cost effective method to get rid of flies and you can repeat the process until you destroy all the fruit flies. You should be sure that the jar is cleaned and it should have any smell other than banana. Because, the fruit flies can’t observe the banana smell if any other smell is inside the jar. This is the simple and easy technique to know how to get rid of fruit flies.
